Copyright
A core function of PMI is to provide professional development and education offerings to our members to advance their knowledge of project management and for credential recertification. Many presenters and Registered Education Providers will be contracted throughout the year to present at our events. As a service to our members we will provide copies of some of these presentations on our web site. The individual presenter is required to demonstrate compliance with the Copyright Act for the content, images and sounds used in their presentations. The posing of these presentations on our website is covered under the Fair Dealing provisions of the Copyright Act. Fair dealing is a user right contained in the Copyright Act.
Fair dealing allows us to copy from a copyrighted work, without the copyright owner's permission, if:
- the copy is for one these purposes: research, private study, education, parody, satire, criticism, review or news reporting; and
- our dealing (use) is fair.
Works protected by Copyright may be displayed on this website only if authorized by:
- The Copyright Act for the purposes of fair dealing or under specific exceptions as set out in the Act.
- The Copyright owner, or
- A Licence agreement between this chapter and a collective society or a tariff, if any.
